Your provider at Nurture Pediatrics recommends that all children 6 months and older get an annual flu vaccine. During the winter months, transmission of the flu is expected to rise. Saturday Drive Up Flu Clinic schedule has been announced! Appointments available throughout the week as well. Children six months and older are recommended to receive the flu vaccines to decrease the risk of serious complications of the flu. Flu Mist nasal spray is also available for those two years and older. Making sure your child is up to date on vaccinations is very important. Children younger than 5 and those with certain chronic conditions may be at increased risk for complications. A flu shot is quick, easy and covered by most insurances. As we gather with our families to celebrate gratitude, Nurture Pediatrics will be closed on Thursday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. We hope your holiday is filled with rest, connection, and plenty of pumpkin pie! But while our offices may be closed for the day, your child’s health never takes a holiday—and neither do we.
We’re so excited to invite our families and community to our Trunk or Treat event at Nurture Pediatrics Smyrna on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM! This free, family-friendly event is all about costumes, candy, and community fun. Our staff, community partners, and local businesses will be decorating trunks and handing out treats in a safe and festive environment for kids of all ages. 💉 Flu Vaccines Available – For our established patients, flu vaccines will also be available during the event for established Nurture patients. It’s the perfect chance to protect your child’s health while enjoying a fun fall evening!
Nurture Pediatrics is excited to welcome Abbey Gosik, FNP , to our provider team! Abbey will begin seeing patients in our Smyrna office starting September 2, 2025 . Abbey brings a strong passion for pediatrics and family-centered care. Her background includes experience as a registered nurse in the newborn nursery, as well as work in both acute care and outpatient settings. During her nurse practitioner training, she completed clinical rotations in pediatric primary care and pediatric neurology. At Nurture, Abbey looks forward to building trusting relationships with families and caring for children of all ages. Her holistic approach emphasizes preventive health, parent education, child safety, and advancing health equity. Outside of the office, Abbey enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, hiking, traveling, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. We are thrilled to welcome Abbey to the Nurture Pediatrics family and know she will make a wonderful impact on our patients and community.
